Poem: Twas the Day of Easter

T’was the day of Easter and all through the land,

kids were home playing and mom was lending

a hand. The weather man was on tv talking

about bad weather coming, while an old man

was on his porch humming. The folks of

Alabama were rushing to Walmart for some

toilet paper and milk, others were sewing

mask of linen and silk. Some were searching

the house for candles in case of tornadoes.

Others were out buying flowers at Lowes.

Many are dreaming of Jesus return, while

some are hoping this virus would burn.

The churches are empty which to me

seems odd, because today we should worship

Jesus and our God. The mayor is restricting

our meetings of more than ten, others laugh

and joke about their world of sin. One day many

will question what they did wrong, while

searching for loved ones all the day long. Then

they will remember what the preacher said,

causing their hearts to dread. Realizing Jesus

has come and went, no more chances to ever repent.

Poem-The Angels Are Close By

angels111111

God gives his angels charge over us,
to keep us safe from harmful things.
They will cover you with their wings,
when you dash your foot and sigh.
The angels are always close by.

They minister to us when we need them,
and they raise us up when we fall.
They surround us daily and stand tall.
When you close your eyes and cry,
The angels are always close by.

In a lowly stable, Jesus was born,
The angels were close by,
Early that Christmas morn,
to sing praises to the king.
When the Shepherds drew nigh.
The angels were close by.

When Jesus died on a cross,
that dreadful Easter morn,
The angels were close by.
When Mary seen him and took a deep sigh,
The Angels were close by.

The angels rejoice when a sinner repents.
They sing praises to our God.
In the last day, they will come with the Lord.
On a white horse, Jesus will fly,
With the angels close by.

What does Easter mean to Me?

Hello everyone. Today I am going to do something different. I usually post about writing, marketing, editing and so on but today this post is dedicated to Easter. I challenge everyone to take a close look at what Easter is all about. Easter is recognized all over the world but is usually celebrated by Christians. Easter marks a celebratory time because it marks the date Christ rose from the grave. It is usually the time when Christians will make an extra effort in attending church. Easter is celebrated because of the miraculous resurrection of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion. Some people have made up fables telling children about the Easter bunny and decorating eggs. In Western cultures, Christians celebrate a period of 40 days prior to Easter called Lent. This is when they go through a time of discipline, fasting and repentance.

Easter is a time of reflection on what Jesus Christ did for mankind. He was crucified on a cross for the sins of the world. What does Easter mean to me? It is a time when I remember what Jesus did for me at Calvary. How he gave his own life for the sins of mankind. He did not deserve death but chose it so men would have remission of sins. In the old Testament we learn that the Israelites had to celebrate the Passover by sacrificing a Lamb. The blood of a pure lamb was smeared on the doorpost and this would prevent someone dieing in the household. This ordinance was set up by God and instructions were given to Moses. When Jesus died on the cross, this ordinance was completed and therefore noone was held to it. Jesus sacrifice was accepted because he is a true Lamb of God without spot or blemish. He never sinned or commited evil in the sight of God. He is God in the flesh. His blood was the only one that could completely wipe away our sins. In order for your sins to be wiped away, you have to accept Jesus as your Savior.
